Gift Ideas and Things To Do This Valentine’s Day

Everywhere you turn there are flowers, bears, cards and chocolates being sold more than ever and that’s because we are only a few days away from Valentine’s Day. A day that is celebrated by millions of people showing their love for their significant other or appreciation for friends and loved ones. Last year about 51% of American’s celebrated Valentine’s Day and spent about $230/person.

The day, February 14 is mostly known as the “love” day and might be assumed that only those in a relationship can celebrate. However, if you are single and don’t have a special someone don’t feel discourage and think you are not allowed to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

Valentine’s Day is a day to celebrate love wheatear you have a significant other, or you’re single, but it is also a day to celebrate friendships and let those special people in your life know they’re appreciated. It’s nice to have a day dedicated to love and showing those how much we care and appreciate them, but we must also remember that we don’t need a “special day” to let those important to us know we feel about them. It’s perfectly fine to randomly gift flowers and chocolates to your significant other.

I personally enjoy seeing all the Valentine’s Day decorations, flowers, balloons, chocolates, pink and red colors everywhere however, I’m not a big fan of the day. My husband and I usually never really celebrate Valentine’s Day but we used to when we first started dating and every other year we have celebrated.

We have had our failed experiences trying to celebrate Valentines like getting stranded in the freeway, every restaurant being over booked, and having to wait an hour just to get seated. I mean that’s probably expected during a holiday so it’s not a surprise.

If you have a girlfriend, boyfriend, husband or wife you should always try to make them feel special everyday not just on Valentine’s Day, but it’s okay if you’re trying to spoil them and show them how much you appreciate them on the day.

If you’re single and don’t have that special someone don’t feel bad there’s plenty for you to do on Valentine’s Day. Gather your girlfriends or homeboys and celebrate together, celebrate your friendship. There is no reason why anyone should feel lonely on Valentine’s.
